it was really a busy morning/afternoon for me.
i woke up about 650 am to attend a the wow minis tournament at 9. i was there at SMU at 825, only to find out that the thing started at 11. wooopedooo!
so i went over to the cathy and thought of killing my time there, but none of the shops were opened, not even starbucks. the only one that was open was 7eleven. i bought some food and drinks there and went back to SMU to rot. i was listening to several slow, calming songs only to find out the fact that i couldn't put myself to sleep. so it was Slipknot songs for me=]
when the thing started, i signed up straight away. when all the players were present, we all sat down at the benches and waited for further instructions. we were given a booster pack each, and were told to open it up and to fill up some forms. i was devastated with mine. i was hoping to get myself the Horde Faction or maybe even the Alliance Faction. never have i expected myself to get the Monster Faction. as my disappointment was crushing my dreams, the head judge Edwin told up to pass the booster one time to the left. and then one more time. i was looking forward to the new ones, but i got the Monster Faction once again. at least this one was better.
there were a total of 7 rounds. you lose 3 and then you're out.
my first round was against a beginner. he wasn't really sure with the rules, so i was kind of teaching him during our game. he was using the Horde Faction. i lost. 8 to 15.
second round, i was playing against a guy who took the booster that i first opened. we were both pretty serious, but after awhile, we started to get friendly, due to the fact that all our characters were having the same ticks for countless of times. i won this round. 15 to 8. after my victory, i looked over to my left and saw this.
for the third round, all my opponent needed was 10 victory points to win. i got thrashed by the Monster Faction he was using. score was 4 to 10. we played a friendly round after that. BAM! i lost again. 0 to 10. these two games are so far my most favorite in all the wow minis games i ever played. with 2 lost, i was one more away from going home.
the fourth round was the last one for me. it was either me or my opponent who was going to leave the game. he used the Alliance Faction and beat my team senseless. for all the rounds that i lost, it all happened on that same particular table. bad karma.
after that quick defeat i received, i looked over to my right to witness an Epic battle.
it was between the the Horde and the Monster. War Chief Thrall and Ras Frostwhisper. they were both so close to win. the Horde won in the end, with Thrall whoopping the opponents with Chain Lighting.
i really enjoyed my time there. i loved the experience and the excitement. even though i only won 1 out of the 4 rounds (5 rounds, if you consider the friendly game) i played, i sure was happy.
Lesson of the Day: never build a party with a too high honor. its just STUPID. i should have use the little fish instead of that pack of bones.
