with no news of WoW miniatures, i pretty sure i'll drop the game. it's been a really good run over the year of playing the game even though 2 sets were really pathetic and ridiculous, but hey, it's a great game. so i've been checking out the board game that started it all, Heroclix. It was my first exposure to the miniatures game and i left it when Wizkids closed but somewhere at the end of last year, NECA took over has has been a very dominate force since. i didn't want to go for it at that time, as i was still hoping those idiots at UDE would do something about WoW minis. Heroclix seems better than before, and with each passing day, my confidence in NECA grows evermore strongly. looking through their website, i found that their most recent set, Hammer of Thor, very impressive.

the set was well designed and i really want to get my hands on Venom, Hand Ninja, Captain America, and practically all of them.

they all seem playable and this brings the game with more skills and tactical planning. which is the reason why i used to love WoW minis.
hitting in stores on May 12, Heroclix is bringing in their new starter, Blackest Night. It is based on DC's famous story arc, well pretty obvious, Blackest Night.

the stater contents includes:
Seven 3D HeroClix miniatures, each with a character card
All-new Green Lantern Sciencells Map
2010 HeroClix Complete Rulebook
Six Object Tokens
Twelve Terrain Markers
Two 6-sided dice

so what are the seven miniatures? well, they are...

Green Lantern

Mera

Lex Luthor

The Atom

Scarecrow

Wonder Woman

and lastly... The Flash

even without revealing their stats and character cards, they look pretty damn awesome!
but hey! NECA is doing another set that will be released just next week! on the 14!
it's called The Brave and the Bold.
it's a booster, ranging from a new set of 55 figures. there will be new mechanics added to the game, which kept me i great anticipation throughout the week.
introducing the new mechanics, Alter Ego.

and they too are bringing in new double based characters.

just like WoW minis' Battlegrounds prizes, Heroclix has their own Organized Play Kits.
coming from the first set is Mjolnir.

the Brave and the Bold set also comes in with their own.

wow. this is one really long post. ahaha. just hope Heroclix will remain this great. guess i'll be buying a couple of boosters of the Brave and the Bold next week.

my first ever heroclix.
